Find Waste Zone: An interactive coverage map for Cogent Waste
Turning a static Wix site into a tool that tells customers, instantly, whether their address is covered.
Cogent Waste provides waste removal across a set of defined collection zones, but their Wix site gave visitors no way to see that coverage. Every enquiry started with the same question: do you service my address?
We built Find Waste Zone, a custom mapping tool embedded directly into the Wix site. Each waste zone is rendered as a colour-coded polygon on a Google Map, so the full service footprint is visible the moment the page loads.
Layered over the map is an address input. Google Places autocomplete guides the entry, the address is geocoded to coordinates, and a point-in-polygon test resolves it against the zone boundaries, returning the matching zone and the removal services available there in a single step, with no page reload and no phone call.
Challenges
A service business defined by geography, running on a platform with no way to express it.
Service areas were impossible to explain
Cogent Waste operates across a patchwork of collection zones, but the site had no way to show them. Customers had to call or email just to find out whether their street was covered.
Wix had no native mapping tool
The site was built on Wix, which offers no zone-based mapping and no way to test an address against a service boundary. Everything had to be built as custom script on top of the platform.
Wasted enquiries from out-of-area leads
A large share of incoming enquiries came from addresses outside the coverage area, costing the team time on leads that could never convert.

A custom Google Maps layer inside Wix that maps every waste zone and checks any address against it in seconds.
Colour-coded zones on Google Maps
We integrated the Google Maps JavaScript API and drew each waste removal zone as a distinct polygon overlay, so visitors can see the full coverage area at a glance and understand which service applies where.
An address lookup that answers instantly
An overlay form sits on top of the map with Google Places autocomplete. An entered address is geocoded, tested against the zone polygons point-in-polygon, and the matching zone with its available services is returned immediately.
Custom script inside Wix
All of it runs as custom JavaScript embedded in the Wix site, with zone data kept in an editable config so the team can adjust boundaries and service details without a developer.
We were told a zone map wasn't possible on Wix. IviveLabs built one anyway, and it now answers the question our customers ask most.
Outcome
Visitors to cogentwaste.com now see every waste removal zone on an interactive map and can confirm coverage for their own address in seconds, cutting out the back-and-forth that used to start every enquiry and filtering out leads outside the service area before they reach the team.
